Clip articles into Obsidian as Markdown
If your knowledge base lives in Markdown, the last thing you want is to paste a web page and spend ten minutes fixing headings, links, and stray formatting. Offprint exports the article as clean Markdown so it lands ready to use.
Export a page as Markdown
- Open the article in Safari and tap Offprint from the page menu.
- Choose Reader mode to strip ads and navigation, keeping the text, links, and image references.
- Pick Markdown.
The result is a plain-text file with real headings, lists, blockquotes, and links — the structure of the article preserved as Markdown syntax.
Drop it into your notes app
From the share sheet, send the file to:
- Obsidian — save it into your vault folder via Files, or open-in Obsidian.
- Notion — import the Markdown file into any page.
- Bear, iA Writer, or any editor that reads
.md.
Build a library you own
Clipping to Markdown means your reading lives in plain text you control — no proprietary format, no account, and nothing uploaded. It’s the same approach that makes Markdown notes portable in the first place.
