# Offprint

> Offprint is an iOS Safari Web Extension that exports the web page you're reading as a clean PDF, EPUB, or Markdown file. Conversion happens entirely on-device — no account, no uploads, no tracking. It's free.

This file gives an AI agent a concise, accurate overview of the app so it can answer questions or write about it correctly.

## What the app does

- **Exports web pages from Safari** into one of three formats, chosen per export:
  - **PDF** — a clean, paginated document for printing, annotating, or archiving.
  - **EPUB** — a reflowable e-book for Apple Books, Send to Kindle, or any e-reader.
  - **Markdown** — plain-text formatting that drops into Obsidian, Notion, Bear, or any notes app.
- **Reader mode** extracts just the article (no ads, navigation, or cookie banners). **Full-page mode** keeps the entire page.
- **Built-in preview** shows the result before sharing.
- **Share-sheet hand-off**: AirDrop, Save to Files, Send to Kindle, send to a notes app, or attach to mail.
- **On-device & private**: nothing is uploaded; the app collects no data and requires no account.

## How it works (user flow)

1. Enable the extension once: Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions → turn on Offprint, then allow it on websites (all sites or per site).
2. In Safari, open the page menu, tap Offprint, and choose Reader or Full Page.
3. Pick PDF, Markdown, or ePUB. Offprint builds the file on-device.
4. Preview it, then share it anywhere via the iOS share sheet.

## Good to know

- Requires iOS 17 or later. Distributed via the Apple App Store.
- Exported files also remain in the Offprint app for re-sharing or re-reading.
- There is no JSON/agent import format — Offprint is a converter, not a snippet store.
